Meditation on Pattern

This series is a physical exploration of the internal patterns we adopt and allow to give structure to our lives. The pieces use a technique called rep weave, in which the use of densely structured warp yarns creates a solid face of woven pattern. Through the playful use of alternative weft materials, all found or repurposed, new patterns and combinations can be discovered with no change to the warp. This investigates the ways in which we are able to constantly re-write our personal and internal narratives despite absolutely no change in our external environment. In this way, adaptability in mindset paves the way for limitless potential growth.
