Natural dyes
It’s a little known fact that synthetic color is the most prevalent artificial material used today. As an artist, I feel responsible for creating work that won’t harm the environment or have negative repercussions. Natural dyes are safe, colorfast, and harmless. I love that nature provides this for us.
Aside from immersion dyeing and eco bundling, I’ve begun to explore the process of extracting natural dye pigments from dye baths by precipitating the pigment. I’’m using this pigment to make oil paint, and have plans to continue working with pigments to create other kinds of paints, stains, and inks.
