A Language of My Own Series

The series ‘A Language of My Own’ was my first exploration into painting on fabric. The ground of each painting is pieced fabrics taken from donated fast fashion garments. The bold and graphic lines of the piecework is mimicked in the shapes and colors of the painting. The pieces evoke the idea of an otherworldly experience, one with bold contrast and nonrepresentational forms. They are a visual representation of an abstracted state of being.
